Ingrid Stitt was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council at the 2018 state election representing the Western Metropolitan Region. She is the Minister for Mental Health, the Minister for Ageing and the Minister for Multicultural Affairs in the Allan Labor Government.
She is passionate about supporting person centered care in both the mental health and ageing service systems and she values the hard work and dedication of our workforce in delivering high quality care that Victorians can rely on.
As Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Ingrid believes that Victoria’s diversity is one of our state’s greatest strengths. She recognises the contribution that our proud multicultural communities make to make our state stronger and fairer.
Prior to entering Parliament, Ingrid devoted her working life to fighting for low paid workers across the private and community sectors as Secretary of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Services Union between 2004 -2018.
