Keir was an ordinary Committee of Management Member for the Mental Health Legal Centre and Chair from 2000 – 2005. Keir is a Senior Consumer Advisor, Senior Project Officer, Mental Health Improvement Program, Safer Care Victoria. Prior to this Keir was the Senior Advisor, Lived Experience and Education, Mental Health Complaints Commissioner Victoria. Keir also worked as  Senior Consumer Consultant, Thomas Embling Hospital Forensicare. He served as a Community Member, Mental Health Review Board.  For six years, Keir worked as a Lived Experience Advisor, Mental Health Division, Department of Health Victoria. Keir was also the Consumer Co-Chair, National Mental Health Consumer Carer Forum 2020-2022.
