Mr Kristopher Garred is the Director of Mental Health Strategy within the Mental Health Division of the Commonwealth Department of Health, a position he has held since late 2020. Kris is responsible for broad policy advice and development in relation to national mental health reform in Australia, including responses to the recommendations of the Productivity Commission and National Suicide Prevention Adviser. Over Kris’ 20 year career in the public service, he has also held policy and data and research positions related to workplace health and safety, labour market and workplace relations, and critical infrastructure security and resilience. Kris holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters in International Relations.
